A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark to the northeast of Gussage All Saints on a 1995 aerial photograph. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
An irregular post medieval extractive pit 27m long by 35.4m wide (at widest extent) is visible as a cropmark to the northeast of Gussage All Saints on a 1995 aerial photograph (1). The feature appears possibly truncated on its west side by a historic field boundary shown on the OS 1st Edition map (2).The feature may be a medieval or post medieval chalk pit or marl pit.
The site is located within a cropping field on current Google Earth imagery and remains faintly visible on a 2005 vertical aerial photograph (3).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
