Full Description
Faint ditched linears visible in fields to the east of Gussage All Saints on 1940s aerial photographs may be post medieval drainage features (1). Alternatively they may represent historic cultivation of medieval or post medieval date.
The features run from east to west across the grain of the historic field pattern and appear to underlie field boundaries of probable post medieval origin, some of which are present on the OS 1st Edition map (2). This suggests the drainage or cultivation features are early 19th century or older in origin.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
