Summary

Linear ditched features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 on Lower Common, Verwood. They are probably post medieval drainage ditches but lie to the north of a known bombing decoy dating to the Second World War and may be associated with it (MDO39839). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

Linear ditched features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 on Lower Common, Verwood (1). They are probably post medieval drainage ditches but lie to the north of a known bombing decoy dating to the Second World War and may be associated with it (MDO39839). The features are still partially extant under trees (2), they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
