Summary

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the field to the east of Verwood Manor Farm. It is considered to be the site of a post medieval extractive pit or quarry and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the field to the east of Verwood Manor Farm (1). It is considered to be the site of a post medieval extractive pit or quarry and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The site has since been levelled by ploughing and is visible as a cropmark (2).
