Full Description

ST 78640600. A grass covered mound, overall diameter 17.0m., and with a maximum height of 1.2m. The mound is crossed by a double fence along which runs the parish boundary. S.E. of the fence the mound is fairly well preserved but to the N.W. of the fence it has been ploughed down and averages 0.2m. high. There are vague traces of a ditch, but these are unsurveyable. The mound is probably a bowl barrow; although a slight berm is visible on the SE, this may be the result of woodland clearance which has taken place on that side. The position, on a straight and fairly level stretch of parish boundary does not seem to indicate a boundary mound. <1> ST 787060. Round barrows [sic] N of Delcombe Wood, scheduled. <2>
