Summary
Two small irregular banked mounds at St Giles's Park are visible as earthworks on current Lidar imagery. They may represent post medieval spoil heaps. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
Two small banked earthworks are visible at St Giles Park on current Lidar imagery (1). These irregular mounds are located to the west of a larger mound (MDO6276) shown as a tumulus on the OS 1st Edition map. The features may be related, possibly post medieval spoil heaps, although an earlier origin for the largest of these features (MDO6276) is also possible as it is situated within an area prevalent of Bronze Age barrows. The two smaller mounds are irregular in form, measuring 25m by 22m and 18m by 14m. The westernmost mound is abutted by a banked linear earthwork that possibly forms part of a prehistoric field system (MDO40157).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
