Summary

A sub-circular ring ditch to the southeast of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph. The feature may represent a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

SU 03951226. Ring ditch, diameter 45m, visible on air photograph. <1-2> A sub-circular ring ditch to the southeast of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph. <3> The ring ditch measures 52.4m in diameter with a 4m wide outer ditch. The ring ditch is truncated on its west side by a historic field boundary present on the OS 1st Edition map. The feature is presumed to represent a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
