Summary

The cropmark of a ring ditch, probably representing a Bronze Age barrow, is visible on aerial photographs from 1995, 1997 and 2010. The feature measures 18.9m in diameter and was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

The cropmark of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen on HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken in 2010. This ring ditch is situated south-west of Creech Hill Bungalows at SU 0375 1265. <3> A sub-circular double ring ditch to the northeast of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on 1990s aerial photographs <1 and 2>. The feature measures 18.9m in diameter with a 1m wide outer ditch and a 0.8m wide inner ditch, 1.75m apart. The feature is presumed to represent a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
