Summary

A double ditched linear feature to the south of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph. The feature is presumed to represent a historic trackway, probably post medieval in date, although an earlier origin is possible. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A double ditched linear feature to the south of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph (1). The feature comprises two curvilinear ditches extending from a trackway accessed in the southeast corner of a field to the south of Glebe Farm and running broadly northwest towards the northwest corner of the same field to the road in front and south of Glebe Farm. The feature is presumed to represent a historic trackway, probably post medieval in date, although an earlier origin is possible. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
