Full Description
Two areas of probable post medieval narrow ridge and furrow to the northeast of Keepers Cottage are visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The areas of visible cultivation are irregular in form and do not correspond with the historic field pattern present on the OS 1st Edition map. The cultivation ridges are broadly parallel and about 4m apart. They are presumed to represent narrow ridge and furrow, probably post medieval in origin, although a medieval date may also be possible.
The features are within cropping fields in a 2014 aerial photograph and no longer visible (2). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
