Full Description

A post medieval chalk pit to the east of the Drive Plantation, St Giles's Park, is visible as a tree covered earthwork on 1997 aerial photographs (1 and 2). The earthwork measures 73m long by 48m wide and is shown as 'old chalk pit' on the OS 1st Edition map (3). The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
