An area of post medieval drainage to the west of St Giles's Park is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The drainage ditches are arranged on both vertical and horizantal axiis across two historic enclosures present on the OS 1st Edition map. The ditches feed into a post medieval water management system associated with St Giles's Park. An extensive water meadow is situated to the south (MDO40020).
The features are still visible on a 1995 aerial photograph (2). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
