Summary

An Old Clay Pit and Brickworks is marked on the OS 1st edition map to the southwest of the Methodist Chapel at Holt Wood. A small spoil heap and associated earthworks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 immediately to the north. They are considered to be associated 19th century extraction and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

An Old Clay Pit and Brickworks is marked on the OS 1st edition map to the southwest of the Methodist Chapel at Holt Wood (1). A small spoil heap and associated earthworks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 immediately to the north (2). They are considered to be associated 19th century extraction and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
