SU 0195 0955. Traces of a plough levelled field system, probably Prehistoric or Roman in date, are visible as cropmarks to the southwest of the Knowlton Circles henge group. The fields are rectangular with average dimensions of 65m x 25m, and cover an area of 10.9 hectares between SU 01983 09425 - SU 01949 09798. The field system earthworks appear to be bounded on the north by a linear feature or trackway (SU 00 NW 1), and to respect the positions of the larger round barrows in the southern part of the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. The field system has been mapped from aerial photographs by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. <1-3>
