Summary
An extensive system of perpendicular ditches is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the field to the east of Horton Hollow. They appear to centre around a group of small enclosures and a possible trackway which may relate to the site of a deserted settlement or farmstead. Field boundaries and/or drainage features extend from the possible settlement and cover an area of 620m by 300m. They are considered to be of medieval or later origin. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

An extensive system of perpendicular ditches is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the field to the east of Horton Hollow (1-2). They appear to centre around a group of small enclosures and a possible trackway which may relate to the site of a deserted settlement or farmstead. Field boundaries and/or drainage features extend from the possible settlement and cover an area of 620m by 300m. They are considered to be of medieval or later origin. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
