Summary
An extensive system of bank and ditched field boundaries and drainage features of medieval or later date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and on lidar imagery in fields to the east of Manor Farm, Horton. The features may relate to the Benedictine Horton Priory which lay immediately to the west in the vicinity of the parish church; they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description
An extensive system of bank and ditched field boundaries and drainage features of medieval or later date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and on lidar imagery in fields to the east of Manor Farm, Horton (1-2). The features may relate to the Benedictine Horton Priory which lay immediately to the west in the vicinity of the parish church; they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The field system covers an area of 1000m by 500m and continues to the east (MDO40488) and to the south (MDO40479).
