Summary

An extensive system of bank and ditched field boundaries and drainage features of medieval or later date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946, 1995 and on lidar imagery in fields to the north, west and southwest of Wigbeth. They are a continuation of the field system described in MDO40487. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

An extensive system of bank and ditched field boundaries and drainage features of medieval or later date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946, 1995 and on lidar imagery in fields to the north, west and southwest of Wigbeth (1-3). The site covers an area 750m by 650m and is a continuation of the field system described in MDO40487. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
