Summary
A ditched linear feature on the Avon floodplain to the southwest of Jumpers Common is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The feature may be a section of historic field boundary or drainage ditch, probably post medieval in date, although an earlier origin is possible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A ditched linear feature on the Avon floodplain to the southwest of Jumpers Common is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The feature comprises a deep-cut narrow rectilinear ditch extending northwest from the river's edge for a distance of 33m. It may be a section of historic field boundary or possibly a drainage ditch; or have functioned as both. It is likely to be post medieval or later in date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is within open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
