Summary

A curvilinear ditched feature to the south of Stone Park House is visible on 1940's aerial photographs. The feature is presumed to be a historic trackway of probable post medieval origin but may alternatively be a field boundary of earlier, perhaps medieval, date. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A curvilinear ditched feature to the south of Stone Park House is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature is narrow and sinuous in form and runs from east to west in alignment with Cowgrove Road to the south. It is presumed likely to be a historic trackway of possible post medieval origin but may alternatively be a field boundary of earlier, possibly medieval origin. The feature is still visible in sections on current Google Earth imagery. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
