Summary

Ditched linear features in fields to the northeast of Stone Farm are visible on 1940's aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched linear features in fields to the northeast of Stone Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The features comprise narrow linear and curvilinear ditches that track north across two historic enclosures, with conjoining linear ditches meeting these from the east. The features are presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. Some features may also form or follow historic field boundary lines. The site is ploughed and cropped fields on current Google Earth imagery, with significant boundary removal. The features are no longer visible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
