Full Description

Banked linear features to the northwest of Stone Farm are visible on current Lidar imagery (1). The features comprise parallel and perpendicular interlinking banks that form partial and slightly irregular rectilinear enclsoures. The features do not align with the historic field pattern and in places clearly underlie boundaries of probable post medieval date (MDO40623). The features are considered likely to be field boundaries associated with a field system of possible late prehistoric origin, perhaps Iron Age or Romano-British in date. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
