The feature is presumed to be a historic field boundary of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

The site is under housing on the southwest side of Giddylake on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
