Summary

Strip lynchets within old enclosures are recorded on both sides of Brookman's Valley. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

ST 878143 Field banks and lynchets. <1> ST 880143 Strip lynchets on both sides of Brookman's Valley. <2-4> Several medieval type contour strip lynchets, up to 10m wide and circa 3.0m high lie on either side of Brookman's Valley. At the head of the combe on the south side, three low and wide banks descend into the combe dividing the ground into rectangular blocks. <5>
