Summary

A large mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the south east of The Menagerie, Moor Crichel. It is of uncertain date and function and appears to have subsequently been levelled. The sites was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A large mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the south east of The Menagerie, Moor Crichel (1-2). It is 66m across with a small mound at its centre and surrounding ditch (3). It is of uncertain date and function and appears to have subsequently been levelled (4). The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
