Full Description
A series of ditched linear features in a field at Colehill are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise narrow rectilinear and curvilinear ditches aligned east to west across the width of a historic enclosure present on the 1st Edition map and set broadly parallel to one another between 20m and 30m apart. The features are presumed to be part of a post medieval drainage system but alternatively may be agricultural features of medieval to post medieval date; perhaps strip field boundaries.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
