Full Description

An irregular area of shallow extraction up to 97.5m long by up to 53m wide on Cannon Hill, Colehill, is visible on 1950s aerial photographs (1). The extractive pit is probably post medieval in date, though a later origin is possible. The feature is under trees on current Google Earth imagery and not visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
