Full Description

Ditched rectilinear features at Pilford, Colehill, are visible on aerial photographs (1). The features are situated in fields on the northwest side of Ferndown Forest. The regular form of the adjacent field boundaries in this area indicate possible post medieval intake of former heathland and the features are also presumed to be field boundaries of probable post medieval date. The featurs are still within open fields on current Google Earth imagery but are not visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
