Full Description
Two areas of ridged cultivation marks to the east of Deans Grove, Colehill, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise parallel ridges set around 4m to 4.5m apart with 1m wide ditches in between. The ridges are regular and straight in form, suggesting possible post medieval narrow ridge and furrow; the features are overlain by a post medieval to modern drainage system (MDO40804)
The northern part of the site is a sports pitch on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. The south part of the site is still open fields but the features are also no longer visible, probably due to later ploughing. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
