Summary
Ditched and banked linear features in fields on the north side of Burt's Hill, Wimborne Minster, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
Ditched and banked linear features in fields on the north side of Burt's Hill, Wimborne Minster, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are narrow and predominantly rectilinear in form. They sub-divide two irregular historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose boundaries are probably at least medieval in origin (2).
The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the features remain variously and partially visible in certain years.They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
