Full Description
Ditched curvilinear features in fields to the northwest of Walford are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise two narrow curvilinear ditches aligned southeast to northwest across the full length of an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2). They are truncated by 1945 by an early 20th century field boundary but were probably one feature originally (2).
The features are considered likely to be part of a historic trackway of possible post medieval origin.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
