Summary

Banked linear features in a field to the north of High Hall are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Banked linear features in a field to the north of High Hall are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The features comprise two short sections of rectilinear bank located in the northeast corner of a historic field recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and forming a partial enclosure (2). One of the linearsis marked by a line of trees on the 1st Edition map (2). The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features remain faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
