Full Description
Two small post medieval extractive pits to the northeast of Stanbridge are visible on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).
The features comprise two shallow sub-circular depressions 16m by 9.8m and 9m by 6m. The two features are situated immediately adjacent to each other on the southeast side of an irregular line of trees within a sub-rectangular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (3).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
