Summary
A ditched curvilinear feature in a field to the northeast of Clapgate is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The feature may be a historic field boundary of potentially medieval date, although it may alternatively be a post medieval trackway. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A ditched curvilinear feature in a field to the northeast of Clapgate is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature is broad and slightly curvilinear in form and quite deeply incised. It sub-divides a small irregularhistoric enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose curvilinear boundaries are potentially medieval in origin (2).
The feature may also be a historic field boundary of potentially medieval date, although it may alternatively be a post medieval trackway.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is still clearly visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
