Full Description
Ditched and banked linear features to the southeast of Bothenwood are visible on aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The features are narrow and rectilinear in form. They sub-divide narrow irregular enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose curvilinear boundaries are likely to be predominantly medieval in origin (3).
The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin for these is possible.
The site is open rough ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
