Summary

An area of narrow ridged and ditched cultivation in a field to the north of Broadbridge is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features may be those of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

An area of narrow ridged and ditched cultivation in a field to the north of Broadbridge is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The features comprise narrow parallel ridges set around 3.5m apart with 1m wide ditches in between. The features may be those of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow. The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery but with significant historic boundary removal since 1947 (1). The features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
