Ditched linear features in fields to the north of Pig Oak are visible on aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The features comprise two areas of close set and broadly parallel ditches, one area aligned east to west and the second north to south, both within an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. A smaller historic enclosure to the south of this contains a further three parallel ditches (1). A large drainage channel is visible to the west of these in the adjacent field (2).
The features are considered likely to be post medieval drainage ditches.
The site is still fields on current Google Earth imagery, although the smaller field now contains two ponds. The features in the northern field are finatly visible on 2014 Google Earth imagery (3). The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
