Summary
An area of possible historic cultivation marks to the south of Brookside Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are indistinct but may be those of medieval ridge and furrow. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
Two areas of possible historic cultivation marks to the south of Brookside Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise a series of broadly parallel ridges and ditches; the ridgeare around 9m apart and the ditches around 2.5m to 3m wide. The features occupy a large modern enclosure to the south oF Brookside Farm, which is recorded as two historic enclosures on the OS 1st Edition map; divided by an already out of use field boundary by the late 19th century, marked only by a row of trees (2).
The features are indistinct but may be those of medieval ridge and furrow.
The site is is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
