Areas of ridged and ditched cultivation marks at what is now Knighton Farm Golf Course are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are indistinct but comprise parallel ridges set around 5m apart with 2m wide ditches in between. The cultivation marks occupy parts of two historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2).
The features may be those of medieval ridge and furrow, although a later origin is also possible.
The site is part of Knighton Farm Golf Course on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
