Full Description
Banked linear features to the northwest of Park Cottages are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise three short rectilinear sections of bank that are situated either side of a probable post medieval field boundary (MDO41075) and on the same alignment. The two southernmost of these features align with a small square wooded enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, which is no longer visible in 1946 (1).
A further short curvilinear section of bank is situated to the west of the three short linears on a northwest to southeast alignment
The features may be sections of historic field boundaries of possible medieval date although a later origin is possible. Alternatively they may be modern features of agricultural origin.
The site is part of Knighton Farm Golf Course on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
