Summary
Ditched linear features in fields to the south of Ashington are visible on aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
Ditched linear features in fields to the south of Ashington are visible on aerial photographs. (1).
The features are narrow and rectilinear in form. They sub-divide irregular historic enclosures recorded on the OS 1st Edition map whose sinuous boundaries are probably medieval in origin (2).
The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is largely redeveloped ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible.They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
