Full Description
An irregular ditched feature to the southwest of Knighton is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature is around 10.5m long by 9.5m wide and is situated towards the western edges of a pasture field where a number of narrow tracks, possibly animal tracks, appear to cross it. The feature may be a small post medieval extractive pit but could alternatively be a depression formed through erosion from stock crossing through.
The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery but the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
