An area of post medieval extraction on Knighton Heath is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises two small sub-oval scarped depressions between 22m and 26m long by 10.5m to 15.5m wide.
The heathland on which the features are situated in 1945 (part of Knighton Heath) is typically scarred by widescale post medieval extraction, which is characteristically shallow but with some areas of deeper extraction also present.
The site is under modern housing development on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
