Summary

Ditched linear features on Knighton Heath are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic trackways of probable post medieval to early modern date. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched linear features on Knighton Heath are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2). The features interlink with trackways recorded on current OS mapping and visible on current Google Earth imagery. They are also presumed to be trackway, probably of post medieval to early modern date. The site is still open heath on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
