Full Description
Ditched linear features on the west side of Dunyeat's Hill are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise a series of irregular and closely set ditched linears aligned North to South on what was formerly the western edges of open heath on Dunyeat's Hill, as indicated on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features are considered to be historic trackways of probable post medieval date. They are overlain by two wider ditched linears thought to be modern trackways and still extant in 1946 (1).
The site is part of Broadstone Golf Course on current Google Earth imagery. The features are partly under tree cover or under a modern car park but the northern section are still visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
