Full Description

A small irregular ditched feature at West Howe is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature is situated on the south side of a modern road closely adjacent to two detached residential buildings on the top of a low rise of ground. It measures up to 19m long by up to 13m wide and is considered likely to be a small extractive pit of probable post medieval origin. The site is under modern housing development on current Google Earth imagery. The feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP
