Full Description
Parallel ditched linear features in a field to the northeast of Bear Wood are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are faint and indistinct but appear to comprise widely spaced straight parallel southwest to northeast aligned ditches, which run towards the banks of the River Stour. The features may be drainage ditches of probable post medieval origin, although it is possible they are cultivation marks, perhaps medieval to post medieval in date.
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
