Full Description
Banked linear features to the north of Knighton House are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise short sections of narrow curvilinear bank located within a large historic enclosure to the north of Knighton House, adjacent to the Stour River. Some sections of bank are marked by trees on the OS 1st Edition map (2). Their form and relationship to features presetn on the OS 1st Edition map suggest the features are historic field boundaries, possibly of medieval origin although a later date is also possible.
The site is still open ground on current Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
