Full Description
A small sub-circular ditched and banked feature on heathland to the west of West Parley is visible on aerial photographs (1).
The feature comprises a 11.7m by 9.7m sub-oval depression, possibly with an irregular halo of cast up earth around it - although the feature is indistinct and overgrown by 1945 and the detail is not clear. The feature may be a modern World War Two bomb crater; there is a row of probable bomb craters (MDO41308) 100m or so to the west, although this feature appears to be odler and more overgrown.
The site is under trees on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
