Full Description

A banked linear feature to the west of Beacon's Farm is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature is narrow and rectilinear in form and is of noticeably different character and on a different alignment to two further banked linear features to the west (MDO41321), considered to be historic field boundaries of at least medieval origin. This feature may also be a historic field boundary but its character suggests a probable post medieval date. The site is now Beacon Farm on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible; there is evidence of much modern boundary change and modification. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
