Summary
An irregular ditched hollow feature to the east of Holmwood Park is visible on current Lidar imagery. The feature is recorded as 'Old Gravel Pit' on the OS 1st Edition map; the extent of the feature on current Lidar imagery indicates additional extraction may have taken place post late 19th Century, however. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
An irregular ditched hollow feature to the east of Holmwood Park is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The feature comprises an irregular hollow 83m long by up to 76.5m wide. It is recorded as 'Old Gravel Pit' on the OS 1st Edition map; the extent of the feature on current Lidar imagery indicates additional extraction may have taken place post late 19th Century, however, as the feature currently appears to extend west of a modern road and continue around the north side of a modern residential plot (1).
The feature was digitally plotted from current Lidar imagery by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
